Chelsea avoided coming from 3-0 down in front of West Bromwich Albion and snatched a 3-3 draw in the last round on Saturday in the third stage of the English Premier League.
It is true to say that the Blues survived a catastrophic loss, as the host quickly advanced through Irishman Callum Robinson (4 and 25), to add Kylie Bartley the third goal (27). Mason Mount (55) and Callum Hudson-Odoi (70) reduced the score, before Tammy Abraham snatched a draw (90 + 3).
The defense line is responsible for the goals received by veteran Argentine goalkeeper Wilfredo Caballero, who replaced the Spanish star Kepa Arisabalaga in coach Frank Lampard's squad due to the many mistakes he commits.
The first goal came after a mistake in clearing the ball from Spaniard Marcos Alonso. Brazilian Mateus Pereira kidnapped it and made it, then passed it to Robinson, who did not hesitate to shoot it in the net (4).
And following a mistake in taming the ball from Brazilian Thiago Silva, who joined Chelsea at the beginning of the season from Paris Saint-Germain, Robinson doubled the score after he snatched the ball Vanfred Bkapallero and shot it in the net (25).
Less than two minutes later, Bartley raised the score to 3-0 with a shot to the right of the goalkeeper (27).
Chelsea rose up in the second half, and Mount succeeded in reducing the score with a shot from outside the penalty area (55).
Chelsea added the second goal after a tactical sentence started by German Kay Havertz, coming from Bayer Leverkusen, and finished 19-year-old Hudson-Odoi with a ground shot out of reach of goalkeeper Sam Johnston (70).
Abraham snatched the third goal in the third minute of stoppage time after slipping behind the defenders and following the ball into the net after it fell in front of him after a shot by Mount was stopped by Johnston.
Chelsea became the first team in the league to survive defeat after trailing by three goals in the first half, since West Ham in February 2011 against West Brom the same and also finished 3-3.
The Blues scored 4 points in sixth place, while West Brom is their only point in fifteenth.
