Amazon announced Monday, September 14, that it would hire 100,000 more employees, making it the fourth wave of recruitment for the online distribution giant this year.
According to the Reuters news agency, the positions will include part-time and full-time jobs in the United States and Canada. The retail giant will open 100 new warehouses and operating sites in September, and several of the newly created positions relate to the new locations.
On another note, it should be noted that the company flourished during the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, with consumers increasingly turning to home delivery. Amazon therefore saw its revenues increase by 40% in the last quarter and recorded high profits.
During this month of September, Amazon also announced the creation of 33,000 jobs, mainly in its business and technology divisions.
Recall that the e-commerce giant also hired last April a total of 175,000 employees to respond to the surge in demand amid the coronavirus health crisis.
